New to the blogging world, not new to the personal finance world.

I am a numbers person, having earned my Bachelor's degree in Accounting several years ago. I proudly embrace my accounting expertise. Income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows have always captivated me. These reports narrate the financial story of a company's performance. Are they generating substantial revenue? Do they carry significant debt? Are they abundant in cash, or are they struggling to keep the lights on?

Alongside my role as an accountant and data analyst (more on title this later), I proudly embrace being a wife and mother to two young boys. These cherished titles came into my life years after I embarked on my accounting career. My boys are my driving force, inspiring me to work hard and excel.

Financial Coaching

About a year ago, I proudly embraced the title of Financial Coach, a calling that God placed on my heart. With my extensive knowledge of personal finance, I am committed to empowering those who may lack confidence in their financial decisions. I successfully completed Dave Ramsey's Financial Coach Master Training, a course that transformed my life by providing a clear path to assist others. Having already organized my family's finances, this was the natural next step in my journey.

Embracing the 7 Baby Steps will change your life.

  1. Save $1,000 in a starter emergency fund.

  2. Aggressively pay off all consumer debt.

  3. Increase emergency fund to 3-6 months of expenses.

  4. Invest 15% of your gross income.

  5. Save for children's college.

  6. Pay off your mortgage.

  7. Give generously.

If these 7 steps are intriguing to you, I encourage you to reach out at www.smithfinancialcoaching.com and book a complementary consultation. Financial coaching helps you organize your finances while adjusting your behaviors. Change can be challenging, but having a coach significantly simplifies the process.

Stay tuned for more as I spend the next year sharing my financial ideas and habits with you. I may also include some other random topics that I find fascinating, like minimalism, nutrition, fitness, travel and baking bread (all of which have financial implications).
